Kotama Bouabane, an artist born in Laos and working out of Montreal, thought up Melting Words, a photo series. It's those deal-ending sentences that crop up around the end of an affair, spelled out in letters made of ice. I like it, because ice seems to grasp the transitory meaning of these sentences: as time passes, their meaning changes shape (ice melting into water).
Or! Maybe they're just pretty. My favorite, for reasons I won't get into here, is number three.
Melting Words is here; her other work is lovely.
